Winter break being productive

I don’t want to be productive at all except for a huge castle that I’m going to build in Halo Reach Forge. Unfortunately my dad says he has other plans he says that for the whole break he’s going to make me practice math 45 minutes per day every day. He says that I can’t be an average kid. I know what he said is true though because my brother (my oldest) was basically a prodigy at my age. Instead of elementary school he went to a special program and even has a biography in a book in the library of Congress. Soooo yeah I have to catch up.

Incentive Day

Incentive day is the reward if we improved on our map scores in two out of the three tests we took. I improved on two of them exactly, the math test and the Language Arts test. So I can participate in it. The incentive thing is an hour or so of a choice you make on power learning. Some of the choices are the technology room where you can bring a device or play on the xbox360 that a teacher is bringing (It would be cool if we could bring our own console and games) and the bad thing is we can’t bring our own controllers or games so I have no idea what games she is going to bring. Anyway, another choice is open gym where you can do stuff like basketball in the gym. And you can there is a room where you can do arts and crafts stuff like that. There are more but I’m not interested in the rest. For me my choice was the tech room. I’m gonna get my Xbox 360 on.

Quarter two goals

My goal for ELA is to read more than seven books in quarter two. My goal for math is to keep on being one step ahead in everything we do. My goal for Social Studies is to pay attention the whole time. My goal for science is to learn about physics. My goal for Health is to find something that actually interests me. My goal for S.T.E.A.M is to learn a efficient way of building.

Forgiveness

Forgiving is the quality of being forgivefull. Being forgivefull means you forgive. Forgiving is pardoning someone for something they did that you did not want. And I believe that everyone should forgive someone that has repented.

Honesty

Honesty is the quality of being honest. Being honest is the act of being truthful. Being truthful is telling the truth. Telling the truth is not lying. That is the definition of honesty.

slice of life

My subject is top five video games for me. Number one on my list is Minecraft I like Minecraft espiacally the new version because you can do whatever you want on creative. Number two on my list is Battlefront. I like Star ars Battlefront because well it’s Star Wars so... yeah. My third favorite is HORIZON 3. I like HORIZON 3 because it is all about cars and you get to explore a small piece of Australia. My fourth favorite is HALO. I like HALO because well come on it is HALO. My fifth favorite is SPEEDRUNNERS. I like speed runners because I beat everyone at it and you just have to run.

        

 


                     

MAP

I don’t really like MAP testing I’m pretty sure no kid does. I’m not half bad at it on Math I got 230 on Reading I have 242 and on language arts I have 233. But that doesn’t matter because this blog post is about how I feel about map. I don’t like it because truthfully it’s boring to me. All you do is stare at the screen and answer the questions. But it is an important test so I expected that.  I think that it’s neccesary so over all I’m okay with MAP.

Superhero idea

My superhero is named LEGEND. His identity is Scott Smith and his age is 27 he is from Scotland and he lived there with his parents and brother and sister but moved to Berwyn Illinois at age 6 when his parents died and his siblings went to their grandmother in Ireland. His short story is that he moved to Berwyn because his uncle lived there. As a child he was a prodigy in mathematics and got into M.I.T. at age 15 because he aced S.A.T. He was hungry for more knowledge so he studied and mastered robotic engineering then he went on to study other subjects. One individual subject interested him very much which was astronomy. He researched and researched and he soon mastered that subject as well. He graduated very early at age 19 with a doctorates degree. His first job was at age 18 at a famous robotics company. But he only worked there for two years because he was invited into the project of going to Mars he happily accepted and trained for five years. He took the trip at age 25 with four other people.What happened up their is a mystery to everyone except Scott Smith. All anyone knows is that halfway through the mission a huge alien ship somehow warped in front of their path when all communication was cut off with N.A.S.A. and that team never came back. Only LEGEND did in some queer space armor.

   Information

  His current residence is a mansion.
  He has no powers but he is athletic
  His brother got the power of flight and he is a evil genius mastermind his sisters whereabouts are unknown
   He has a son in the far future who goes back in time to kill his father which is another story.

Story

Yesterday I was in my bed taking a nap and then I heard a blood curling shriek a thud a bark and a yelp. I froze because I didn’t know where it was coming from I heard another scream and it was from the front lawn. I bolted towards the front door and saw chaos. My dad was shouting my dogs name Rollo! Rollo! Come here! My other brother who is 18 was chasing Rollo and my mom was putting her hand over her mouth keeping in a scream. Rollo escaped. You might think, no big deal but that wasn’t the worst part of it. The reason my dog wanted to go out was because he saw two little dogs my dog is a Siberian Husky and he isn’t very nice to strangers and absolutely not other dogs. He was chasing the puppies I think they were tiny chihuahuas and Rollo is really fast so he would’ve gotten them if their owner wasn’t trying to stop him. The chihuahuas ran towards the corner of my street as did Rollo. My brother was offering Rollo ham but Rollo didn’t care when he concentrates on something nothing can interrupt his instinct. I ran as fast as I could but my mom wouldn’t let me. It all came to an end when the chihuahuas ran home. And we finally convinced Rollo to get in the house. And he got plenty scolded.

Fictional story challenge

My name is Tijd and my story starts on a train in Peru. I’m headed back toward America from a vacation in the mountains where my family wanted to explore life in the there. We slept in a village on the mountain Nevado Auzangante. During the day we explored the people’s culture and way of life. One day me and my brother asked our parents for permission to explore the mountains they said it was okay as long we stayed together. Almost at the top of one huge mountain the we saw a cave which was very very  dark. “Should we explore it?” asked my 13 year old brother “ofcourse not” I replied. “Come on don’t be a sissy”. Looking back from now I’m glad I actually listened  to him. But I’ll tell you the rest of that later let’s get back to the train. I was starting to doze off after about half an hour on the train and we were halfway through a bridge when many things happened at once the ground underneath us shifted, one of the pillers holding up the bridge cracked, a piece of the bridge fell off and the train screeched to a halt. But it was too late I remember watching out the window watching us dive lower and lower. My mom and basically everyone else including me started to scream. Then in my head I pleaded to no one please no no no no no omigodimgonnadieimgonnadie! Then BAM I heard whooshing and voices for about three seconds and I kid you not I was back at a train station waiting for a late train. Exactly like before. And when the train pulled up exactly like before. I realized I’ve gone back in time.

Gratitude

Gratitude is the quality or feeling of being thankful. For me I am thankful for my family who gives me shelter, food, education and care. First I am thankful for my father who gives me a good education and love. Also my brothers who joke around with me and play video games. Ofcourse my mother as well who I love very much and who gives me food and care and many other things. Last but not least my awesome siberian husky who snuggles up next to me.

Favorite Country

My favorite country is Ireland because I remember my dad told me I’m part Irish. Plus I think it’s cool the way they talk. Some fun facts” about Ireland is that capital of Ireland (Dublin) houses over a quarter of the population. Shamrock is the national symbol of Ireland. And boxing is Ireland’s most successful sport in the olympics.

Favorite Animal

My favorite animal is the wolf. One of the reasons for that is because my Siberian husky looks a lot like one. Three facts about the wolf are: Wolves hunt in packs. Wolves only hunt when necessary (in order to survive). Wolves avoid humans in the wild. The cite of information is below

Happiest day

For me the happiest day ever was when I ate vintners while watching a movie. The vitners were the best.

Greatest achievement

My greatest achievement is being eligible for the NUMATS program. This is very special for me beacause I want the best education possible for my hopefully future job robotic engineering which requires exceptional math.

Writer vs singer

I go for singer because I’m going to rock out in the talent show with my guitar this year. Plus it’s a form of art. And I love to draw which is art. So in cunclusion I love writers chapter book writers but I go for singer.

Best food ever

In my opinion the best food ever is the one the only delicious scrumptious hotwings. Spicy to be exact. I love it because of my brother who let me try it.

News this week

This week there was a barbaric shooting in a concert in Las Vegas. On sunday night a gunman killed 59 people from a window of a hotel. He killed 59 people but injured about 527 others. That night was the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S history.

If I were president of the U.S.A

   If I were president of the United States of America I would ban smoking and homework on weekends. I would also make the education system make sure every teacher makes every student as smart as they can be or more. I would also ban the selling of any weapon and make sure every existing weapon was confiscated. Even the police can't have any only our navy, military and stuff like that can. All immigrants can come from anywhere. But every one of them must speak English if not they have to take classes. Also if they don't find a job in less than two years the government will no longer pay for them and they will be deported. If you were born here or if you've been in the United States ninety percent of your life you will not be deported. All immigrants will be searched when they come in completely making sure they are not bringing in weapons or any type of inappropriate drug. When immigrants do come in they must be treated fairly by all even authorities. All this is IF I WERE president but I don't want to be president when I grow up.

Every day good thing

 My slice of life subject is video games. For me video games is something you do so that your not staring at the wall. I know that for some reason adults even some kids think video games are a waste of time but I 100% disagree. I think that the reason some people think video games are boring is because they don't know what to play so here are some ideas: Star Wars battlefront if you don't like Star Wars then play halo if you don't like aliens play call of duty if you don't like violence play horizon if you don't like cars play marvel logo if you don't like superheroes or legos play minecraft if you don't like exploring or creating then play one of the hundreds of other video games. (Me personally I love minecraft.) Point is video games are fun.

Digital citizenship

To be a responsible digital citizen people have to check before they post. They have to check if its appropriate. They have to check if what they're saying is true and they need to see if they have correct grammar, proper word structure and basicly they need to check if what they're saying makes sense. As a good digital citizen I'm going to publish only appropriate posts. I'm going to make sure that when I'm posting news this week it's all going to be true. I will also try my best to post things that makes sense and that is understandable.

News this week and last week

This week a Earthquake hit Mexico where many people helped the victims out of the rubble. The magnitude of the earthequake was 7.1 and it hit Central, Mexico the earthquake killed 225 people. This earthquake came two weeks after another devastating earthquake that killed 90 people.

Best way to start the day

For me the best way to spend the day is in a fancy hotel. I say this because when you wake up you can get food delivered to your door and while you eat whatever you want you can watch your favorite show ( in your pajamas of course). And when your done you can play in the fancy pool. That for me is a really good way to start the day.

Book Review

   Last week I finished Frindle by Andrew Clements. The beginning was basicly the author explaining the main character's personality and the middle was about how he invents a new word that means the same thing as pen and how it slowly becomes a really big thing throughout the world. The ending was how everything settles down but frindle is a real word in the dictionary throughout the whole story it's really interesting and you'll want to finish it. My review is four stars.
     I also recommend A Week In The Woods by the same author Andrew Celements.

WE

Last week at Heritage school we had the WE Assembly. This week I took the pledge. Now that I have  done this I will try to help out on making earth a better place. I encourage others to do the same. The assembly was very motivating for me and I believe other students were moved as well.
